Dear Readers,
Here we go. Even though I am pretty confident, when speaking in English, I still have some doubts about myself when it comes to writing. However, I promised that I will also be writing in English, so I am going to give it a try now. This is a very short story for now, but perhaps in the future I will write something longer. Please, do give me some honest feedback in the comments, so I can improve my writing and style.
" She heard the heavy steps, and the stinky, deep breathing right behind her. She had hidden behind a tree, but the tree was not big enough to keep her safe from the dark creatures in the even darker night. Even though the sky seemed clear, no stars could be seen. Bright full moon was shining on top of the darkness, creating a frightening light and ambience below it. She closed her eyes. Maybe the creature would pass, without noticing her. At the same time, she feared, that there was no hope. The creatures senses must be much more accurate than human's. It would probably smell her. It would probably smell her fear. She tried to calm herself down with her eyes still closed. Suddenly the steps and the breathing stopped, and the dark world fell into complete silence. Was the creature still there? She did not know. The only way she could find that out was to open her eyes. It was so silent that she could hear her own heart beating. Mildly shaking out of fear, she squeezed her fingers together, and took a deep breath. Then she slowly opened her eyes, only to see eye to eye with a monster. The monster's eyes were red. Its mouth was huge, covered with yellow sharp teeth. Stinky drool was dripping out of its mouth. It was staring right at her, without blinking its eyes and she stared back, too afraid to move an inch. Everything was stopped, the world was waiting for one of them to move first. The beast looked savage and hungry. Finally, it took a step towards her. <I cannot die today,> she was thinking in her head. The beast opened its mouth big, it was getting ready to finish her, while she took a better position, bending her knees so that it would be easier to start running. It was all like a slow motion. When the creature rushed forward, she pushed herself into motion hoping that she was fast enough, and then suddenly, a white bright light illuminated the whole scene. The monster was screaming in pain - the light seemed to hurt it. The smell of the fear of the death was hovering in the air. She was frozen to her place as the beast continued screaming while crawling back, deeper into the dark dark forest. The light disappeared as fast as it had occurred. She was blinking her eyes, trying to see, trying to hear, anything. But there was no sign of whatever or whoever that was, saving her life. "Thank you," she whispered into the darkness, certain that no one would hear her soft voice. "You're welcome." She heard a voice as low as a bass, deep as an ocean, answering to her. The voice sounded like it came from nowhere, and, yet, like it came from everywhere around her. "Who are you?" She whispered back. And yet again, there was no one there. No sounds, just silence and darkness. "Who are you?" She asked louder. Her eyes started slowly to get adjusted in the darkness again, but the environment was empty. The beast had disappeared, licking its wounds, but she could not be sure if it would come back some day. She had her village to protect, so she was prepared to fight the beast again. "You got away this time, but I do not do the same mistakes twice." She murmured into the air, turned her back to the darkness and walked away. "
